What is Protein Smoothie?
Protein Smoothie is a super healthy, flavorful, and nutrient-rich drink. It is typically made with fruits, veggies, greens, dairy or non-dairy liquid base, and protein of your choice. And it promotes muscle gain, growth, recovery, and performance.
As all of you know, Protein is an essential source in the growth and development of children, pregnant women, and of course of all ages. It helps in muscle growth, bone health, cartilage, and skin. Adding protein to your diet helps to repair cells and also make new ones.
So adding protein to your daily intake is good for your body especially if you are on weight management. Yes, our body heats up more to digest protein when compared to carbohydrates. That's why we feel satisfied and full for a long when we eat protein-rich foods.
Similarly, Protein Smoothies are one of the nutrient-dense drinks to enjoy for breakfast, pre or post-workout, or as a quick snack.

Chef's Notes and Tips
- Protein Powders - I have used plant-based pea and quinoa blend vanilla flavored protein powder here but feel free to use whey, egg, or egg protein powders according to your preferences
- Fruits - Fruits like banana, mango, pineapple, strawberries, blueberries, and similar others work well for this recipe
- Veggies and Greens - You can also add avocado, kale, spinach, and similar other veggies to make an even healthier version of this smoothie
- Non-Protein Powders - Even though I have used protein powder here, you can also use high-protein smoothies without powders. You can use peanut butter, almond butter, flax seeds, chia seeds, soy milk(unsweetened), or oatmeal for similar results
- Other Healthy Addins - You can also use other healthy add-ins like fresh coconut water, almond milk, oat milk, or hemp milk for a liquid base. And if you are looking for a healthy weight loss drink then I recommend using the unsweetened liquid base to enjoy the full health benefits of a protein smoothie

- Spinach and banana - Add some spinach, banana, choice of your milk, and protein powder
- Berries and Protein - Choose your favorite berries like blueberry, strawberry, greek yogurt, and protein powder for fresh berry flavor and taste
- Tropical Punch - For a delicious tropical punch add fruits like mango, pineapple, almond milk, and protein powder
- High Protein Smoothie without powder - Add in your favorite fruits, greens, milk of your choice, and add peanut or almond butter instead of protein powders
These are some of the variations but feel free to mix up things that best suit your needs. And these are also filling drinks especially when you are on weight loss management.
